ESD 2 - Responsibility in the EPA

SEMINAR GOALS

Participants receive in-depth knowledge of the tasks, responsibilities and accountability in the ESD protection zone (EPA). They receive information on the selection of protective materials (specifications) and are instructed in the planning, organization and implementation of audits and training courses. They are made aware of the localization of possible sources of ESD damage through in-depth physical background knowledge. The necessary knowledge of measurement and testing technology is deepened. In a final performance review, graduates demonstrate the knowledge they have acquired, which is confirmed by the certificate ESD Responsibility in the EPA.

TARGET GROUP

Persons who are designated as ESD officers within the company or already nominated ESD officers who wish to update or complete their knowledge. Advanced seminar for employees who want to qualify as specialists through the advanced seminars or who have to deal intensively with ESD protection measures. This includes specialists and managers from the areas of production, quality assurance, development, work preparation and purchasing, as well as manufacturers and suppliers of ESD protection components.

Attendance of the basic seminar ESD1 or corresponding previous knowledge and experience.

• Welcome and introduction
• The ESD representative according to IEC DIN EN 61340-5-1 and others
  Hierarchical integration, areas of responsibility, definition of requirements for protective measures (specifications) Implementation of standard requirements Work instructions, training measures, implementation of inspections and audits
• Physics of ESD damage generation
  Discharge models, fault patterns, analysis
• Solutions for the EPA
  Problem with the floor/shoe system as the main measure for grounding people. Application and testing of ionizers in the production process. Inspection and assessment of ESD-compliant plant and machinery. Are protective functions necessary for work clothing and seating? What needs to be considered?
• The ESD protection officer
  Overview of responsibilities, tasks (training, audit), demonstration of electrostatic measuring methods and measuring devices
• Exemplary creation of an acceptance report and type approval (practical exercise)
  e.g. for clothing and production equipment
• Performance review and evaluation meeting

TESTING

Final examination by means of a multiple-choice test followed by an evaluation interview
